Transition to tech from business process improvement

I never planned to get into the tech world, it couldn’t have been further from my mind. I spent my early years as a bricklayer, which gave me the freedom to live the kind of lifestyle I loved. Traveling to amazing places, surfing world-class waves, and enjoying everything that came with it. But, as life often does, things changed. I found myself in the corporate world, managing teams and working on business and process improvement projects.

I’ve never been the “sit at a desk, toe the line” kind of guy. Corporate life wasn’t really my thing. But what I did enjoy was creating efficiencies, finding ways to make things run smoother, and helping the people around me. The more I worked on business systems and processes, the more I became interested in how tech could be leveraged to create better outcomes through automation and efficiency. That curiosity eventually led me into the world of tech and product development.

Over time, I found my analytical mindset and knack for creating processes and solving problems fit perfectly with building apps that help businesses grow. But I realised that building products wasn’t just about solving technical problems, it was about creating great experiences for users. My background in process improvement meant I could look at things holistically, ensuring products weren’t just functional but also intuitive and easy to use. Little details like intuitive layouts, thoughtful spacing, and smooth navigation, make all the difference in whether a product feels clunky or smooth.

What has became clear is that blending these details with functionality transforms the user experience. A well-designed interface, clear interactions, and attention to user flows can elevate a product from simply working to delivering real value. It’s not just about getting things done; it’s about making sure they’re done in a way that feels natural and satisfying for both users and businesses. That’s the kind of work I love.

My goal is simple: to help you build something that doesn’t just function, but truly helps your business grow and delivers an outstanding experience for your customers.

So, what’s your journey been like? I’d love to hear how you ended up where you are today. Let’s chat
